Welcome to the website of the Catholic Parish of St Patrick, Mentone-Parkdale. The parish is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne and covers the suburbs of Mentone, Parkdale and parts of Cheltenham. The parish is a community of Christ’s faithful entrusted to the care of our parish priest, Fr John Walshe. Here the Gospel is proclaimed, the saving sacraments are celebrated and the pastoral support of each to the other is evidenced in a wide variety of activities and apostolic groups.
The parish has two Churches: St Patrick and the Holy Angels’ Church, Mentone and St John Vianney’s Church East Parkdale.
The parish bears witness to the Catholic Faith and its traditions. A rich liturgical life is given priority here with a special emphasis on the place of sacred music within the liturgical celebrations.
The listing of the various apostolic groups and activity groups offers a wide variety of ways for people of faith to give expression to their faith, to support each other and to reach out to others in the spirit of Christ.
New parishioners are very welcome and we encourage you to make yourself known and to register with the parish office or online here. We want to welcome you and we want to share our faith with you and also to gain from your gifts and talents.
I encourage you to explore this website, which is a work in progress. Look at the various ways in which you may be involved or look for services that you may require. Learn more about our Catholic faith. Contact us if we can be of assistance to you.
Above all let us all endeavour to know, love and serve the living God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
